Seri Menanti Palace


Negeri Sembilan is very popular with its Sri Menanti Palace that is located at Kuala Pilah or known as a royal town of Negeri Sembilan. It is one of the legendary palaces in Negeri Sembilan beside in Melaka, Johor and other state in Malaysia. 

Besides painted in black coloured, these 110 years old royal palace building isbuilt of wood without using a single nail.The architecture of this palace is veryintricate with its beautiful flower motif. Since 1992, it has become a museum of royal regalia that displays royal belong such as costume, furniture, weapons and other parahernalia.



Raja Melawar Palace


     Perhaps you should pay a visit to Negeri Sembilan instead of places like Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Langkawi Island and many more. Negeri Sembilan is such a great place to be explored. If you come to Negeri Sembilan, one of the tourist attractions you can choose is King Melawar Palace, located in the village of Astana King. It is about 10km from Rembau. The palace was built in 2005, which was a replica of the original palace (Imperial Palace Melawar) who was the ruler in Rembau dated around the late 1700s. He later became the first ruler in Negeri Sembilan.     The palace serves as a museum which open from 10.a.m. to 6.p.m. everyday. Most importantly, it is free for entrance. There is a stage inside which mostly used for wedding ceremony, accompanied by a variety of artifacts and explanations of local customs. The burial place of the king and his wife, called "Tomb of King Melewar" is about 100 meters from the museum.








Army Museum

There is a very unique museum, which is the Army Musuem which worth the tourist to visit located in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
Specially for those military genre games and films lovers, there are lots of fun and exciting activities which the visitors can experience during their visiting. There were various memorable pieces displayed inside the museum, for example the collections from Portuguese colonial period, and also those from Dutch and English. You will be surprise by the cannons displayed right after entering the museum entrance, lined up as if the battle is about to begin.
Various heavy equipment which can only be seen in a war, such as guns and rockets were displayed here. However, do not get over-excited and touch it as these equipment are for display purpose only. Port Dickson

Port Dickson is a beach and holiday destination situated in the state of Negeri Sembilan, it was about 32km from Seremban and 90km from Kuala Lumpur (around an hour by car)
Dickson along the North-South Expressway.
During the Straits Settlement period, British developed this small town into a port. Before that, it was used to produce charcoal. The villagers used to called the small town "Arang" which means charcoal.The other name of Port Dickson was "Tanjung" which brings the meaning of peninsular in the Malay language.
There were a row of oldest shop houses foursituated presently at Jalan Lama. Also, there was a carbon mine at the coast road (Jalan Pantai)
Around 1820s, a lots of Chinese immigrants miners were attracted to Port Dickson as there were plenty of tin ore in Lukut. During that time, the British saw the potential of this place as a harbour. Port Dickson took its name after the British in-charge officer's name, Sir John Frederick Dickson.
Port Dickson eventually grew into a busy trading centre, where later railways were being improved to develop that area. However, the beautiful beaches were well preserved even until now. The 18km extent beach all along from Tanjung Gemuk to Tanjung Tuan became a very well known holiday destination for visitors especially from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Several  hotels and resorts were being constructed during 1990s in Port Dickson. Although most of these projects encountered disturbance due to the Asian financial crisis in 1997, they were manage to be revived and completed in 2000s. Not only that, there were several army camps located in Port Dickson, such as Sebatang Karah, Segenting, Si Rusa and Sunggala. Our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak even refered Pork Dickson as the "Army Town".
